Virat Kohli hits 7th double century, goes past Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag.
Kohli took two runs off South African left arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy to reach the 200-runmark off 295 balls.
The Indian captain’s career best 254 not out helped the hosts put up a mammoth score of 601/5 in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja, who was promoted to number six in the batting order, also played a handy knock of 91 (104 balls), which included quite a few entertaining blows. However, he did miss out on his second Test hundred as Kohli declared immediately after his dismissal.
With this double century, Kohli went past Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar who scored six Test double centuries each.
