India will be the last major cricketing nation to enter the pink-ball test era on Friday after initially disrupting the inventions to the five days format.

The second Test against Bangladesh in Kolkata is partly a day-night affair under the floodlights, with a pink ball rather than red for better visibility.

Sourav Ganguly was surprised to see pink sweets in Kolkata following the Day/night affair. “Sweets go pink in Kolkata,” Ganguly captioned the picture on Twitter. The former Indian captain followed it up with another picture of pink sweets specially made to celebrate India’s debut in day-night Test cricket.

Ganguly had previously tweeted, “The city turns pink in the pink test,” with pictures of some prominent Kolkata buildings adorned with pink lights.

The five-day games were successfully introduced in 2015 with day and night tests aimed at increasing the crowd and TV audience, but India, is now ready to join the party.

After a long period of opposing to innovations in Test cricket, India will join the party, which aims to increase the crowd and TV audience for the long-running nature of the game.

First Day/Night test was played between Australia and Newzealand where Australia won the thriller ny 3 wickets.
